# Red and Green Flags on Job Cards

> Understand the red and green flags arco surfaces on every job card so you spot deal-breakers and strong fits before you start an application.

Every job card surfaces what arco noticed in the posting, good and bad, so you are not discovering it halfway through an application. These flags are pulled from the actual job description text, not inferred from the title alone.

## Red flags

Red flags highlight things in the posting worth knowing before you apply. A red flag does not mean "don't apply." It means "know this before you do."

Typical examples include:

* A hard requirement you don't currently meet
* A seniority level that doesn't match your experience
* Vague or contradictory role descriptions
* Unusual demands buried in the requirements
* A stated condition that conflicts with a preference you set during profile setup

## Green flags

Green flags are positive signals: strong alignment between the posting and your background, or a benefit matching something you told arco you care about. When a job has no red flags at all, arco shows a clear positive state rather than an empty section.

## Why this exists

Job postings are marketing documents. They're written to attract applicants, and the difficult parts are usually phrased carefully or placed near the bottom. arco reads the whole thing and pulls the substance forward.
