# Set Your Digest Time and Update Job Preferences in arco

> Choose when arco runs your daily search, update your target roles, locations, and salary expectations, and learn when preference changes take effect.

You control when arco searches and what it searches for from **Settings → Preferences**. This page covers your digest time and all job preferences you set during onboarding.

## Digest time

Go to **Settings → Preferences** and choose the time of day you'd like your search to run. This applies to Pro accounts where searches run automatically every day. On Free, digest time has no effect until you upgrade.

## Job preferences

Everything from profile setup can be changed here:

* Target roles
* Experience level
* Locations
* Company stage
* Salary expectations
* Domains and industries
* Work type
* Free-text preferences

## When to update your preferences

* **Too few matches?** Widen one thing at a time. Location and role titles are highest-impact.
* **Getting irrelevant matches?** Tighten your criteria. Use the free-text field to exclude what you don't want.
* **Search direction changed?** Update properly rather than working around it.

## When changes take effect

Preference changes apply to future searches. Jobs already on your Board keep their current scores until the next search runs.

* On **Pro**, that's the next daily run
* On **Free**, it's your next weekly refresh, or immediately if you have a refresh available and use **Find Jobs**
