# Delete Your arco Account: What to Know and How to Do It

> Learn how to permanently delete your arco account, what data is removed, alternatives to deletion, and why you should export your Pipeline first.

Deleting your arco account permanently removes your profile, CV, matches, Pipeline, and Coach history. Before you proceed, consider whether a less destructive option fits your situation.

## Before you delete

Consider whether one of these fits better:

* Just want fewer emails or searches? Adjust in **Settings → Preferences**.
* Want to stop paying? [Cancel your subscription](/plans-billing/managing-your-subscription) and stay on Free.
* Taking a break? You can simply stop using arco and sign back in whenever you like.

  Once your account is deleted, your Pipeline goes with it. If you want a record, [export to Excel](/pipeline/exporting-your-pipeline) before you delete.

## How to delete your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Go to Settings">
    Open your account settings from the main navigation.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find Delete account">
    Scroll to the bottom of the settings page to locate the deletion option.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm by typing DELETE">
    Enter DELETE in the confirmation field exactly as shown.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete the confirmation">
    Submit the final confirmation to permanently delete your account.
  </Step>

## What's removed

Your account and all associated data: profile, CV, matches, Pipeline, and Coach history.

## If you have an active subscription

Cancel your subscription before deleting your account, so your billing is properly closed out. See [Managing your subscription](/plans-billing/managing-your-subscription).
